Fairytale Farm Mini Horse and Pony Rescue have been advised they need to vacate their leased property by June 30, 2023. They need to find temporary or new horse property for over 50 horses, ponies, and donkeys. Founder, Alexandra Martinez and her family have been frantically searching for a property to lease or possibly purchase if funding and donations can be found. Finding horse property in Santa Clara County is hard at any time, but within the time constraint of 90 days, it is very daunting. They have begun to look in Hollister and San Juan Bautista for available stalls and pastures. Alexandra states she is always in awe of the incredible kindness, compassion, and understanding these animals show. These are animals that have been abused, starved, and abandoned and yet, they show an incredible capacity to forgive, trust, and love. I am always struck by their understanding of children or those in need. They just know that they are special and require even more delicate handling. It’s hard to imagine that anyone would ever be able to dump them at an auction. They give us more than we will ever be able to repay and more than we deserve. We have so much to learn from them. I am thankful for the amazing animals in our lives that show us every day the true meaning of love.

Fairytale Farm believes that everyone deserves a happily ever after. Ideally, this is an adoptive home where they can be loved and part of a family. Sometimes, a sanctuary is the right home option for some that are seniors or extreme abuse cases that need specialized care.

This small nonprofit in the last six years has found forever homes for over 250 rescued horses, ponies, and donkeys. They need our community’s help and yours to help spread the word
