Help Save The EXibit
“The world always seems brighter when you’ve just made something that wasn’t there before.” - Neil Gaiman
We at the Exibit Fine Art Center have been overjoyed to be able to bring a space for our community to share and experience art to Morris, IL. The one and only non-profit for the arts locally, the Exibit is a truly unique space in Grundy County to gather, learn and appreciate not only art, but one another. Our mission is to educate the young, inspire the adult, and to enrich our community through the arts. We feel it is a crucial benefit to our youth and adults alike to take part in expressing ourselves, and having the space to do so.
That is why we are asking for your help.
Without funds for an Executive Director of our many programs and administrative costs, we may not be able to continue to serve our community. Everyone who is currently involved in running the Exibit works full time, and all of our events have been run and coordinated by volunteers. For us to step up our offerings, we need someone that can oversee the direction and growth of our organization as their main focus. Before the pandemic, we were just getting on a roll in our work and services which have benefited local businesses and individuals alike. Below are a few of our friends that have partnered with our Brush ‘n Brew events:
Illinois Valley Industries
Will Grundy Health
Morris Library Woman’s Club
MCHS Education Foundation
WeCare of Grundy County
We are proud of what we have accomplished so far in our community, with some highlights below:
● Being able to nurture the talents and inspirations of young people is vital to growth and self-esteem. We have provided a necessary outlet for our youth by holding regional art shows for children from kindergarten through high school.
● We believe art should be accessible to all. This is why we have partnered with organizations to offer artistic opportunities to people that have special needs and may have limited access. We would love to be able to grow these programs even more.
● In 2019, we held our First Annual Art Show for Vets - sponsored by the VFW, American Legion and others. It was an absolute honor to be the facilitator of this event.
● We offer gallery space for local artists and many opportunities for classes and networking, providing a means for local artists to distribute, sell and make connections through their art.
● We are poised to open our podcasting room, the only public resource for this medium in our town. The possibilities are endless for the aspiring speakers in our community.
● Our Open Mic nights have provided a safe and supportive space for everyone to share their talents and voices, from beginning youth to seasoned professionals.
None of these programs will be able to continue without your support and the support of our community.
With these funds we will be able to:
● Hire a part-time Executive Director to organize, create, and promote our many offerings, and create new, exciting programs for you.
● Fund administrative costs of supplies, building repair, and promotional work to build our community outreach to support even more budding artists.
● Continue to be a safe and nurturing place for you to share your talents, and explore your imagination, strengthening our community.
Please consider making a crucial donation for the Exibit’s continued existence. Every bit helps, and together we can continue to cultivate artistic wonder.
