About Euchee Yuchi Language Project
YLP's mission is to restore the vitality of the Yuchi language and create a sustainable language community where the fullness of the Yuchi worldview can thrive for future generations. YLP is a grassroots organization that grew out of our Yuchi Elders' vision to restore our language and thereby preserve our history and traditions. Recognized as a linguistic isolate, the Yuchi language stands as one of the world's most ancient and rich languages, yet it remains critically endangered. Because of the understanding that our language is living, YLP uses breath-to-breath immersion methodologies to receive the full life of our language directly from our Elders.
