Our Friend and Millions Like Her: Support Epilepsy Research
Support the Fight and Research for Epilepsy

Hi! Our team is Neuro Aid. We are starting a fundraiser for the Epilepsy Foundation because this cause is particularly important to us.

We saw our close friend go through something that changed our lives: one of our close friends had a mild seizure in school. It was a shocking and reality-checking moment that made us realize how much there is for many of us to learn about epilepsy, and how much more we can do to help those who deal with it daily.

Since then, we have had a strong desire to be a force for change. This charity campaign represents us acting on that desire.

We are launching a fundraising challenge to raise $10,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation. The money will be used to promote cutting-edge research in epilepsy treatment and prevention, provide care and assistance to those with advanced stages of the disease, and increase understanding and education about epilepsy and seizures, and how to help.

Every small contribution helps. If you aren't currently in a position to donate, you can still support us by spreading the word. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of millions affected by epilepsy.

Pedal for Epilepsy: Isaac's Tribute
Twenty years ago this month my son, Isaac, and I rode a tandem to Niagara Falls, Canada, and back for a father and son weekend. On June 19th of this year I will recreate the ride solo in honor of Isaac who died from Sudden Unexpected Death form Epilepsy (SUDEP) last year. I am doing this to honor Isaac and also raise money and awareness to this illness.

The goal is to raise $1000 which will go to research to help cure Epilepsy.

The ride will be 26 miles in each direction representing the fact that 1 in 26 people will be affected by epilepsy at some point in their lives. Please consider donating to this cause.

My name is Gabe, and I have suffered from severe epilepsy since I was an infant. I also suffer from depression, anxiety, bpd, and much more. I’m 20 years of age and have died from a seizure not too long ago, and I would like to share my experiences and story with others. So that they can see how important and serious epilepsy is, and how it can affect people mentally as well. I want to raise donations for “The Epilepsy Awareness Foundation” and help those affected by epilepsy and make people aware of their piers. I would like to raise a decent amount “$2,500 to be exact” and would also like to start campaigning and sharing my experiences and feelings on how seizures have affected me.

Our 9-year-old son Nate was recently diagnosed with epilepsy. As a parent, it is so scary to see your child go through something you have no control over. We try our best to protect our children and when we can’t we feel hopeless. We know there are many more people going through the same thing and would like to do our part.

Running for Matty in October
On February 19, 2024, we lost my brother, Matthew Breton, in a car accident. In honor of his memory, my husband Zach and I are running the Maine Half Marathon on October 6th, 2024, the week before what would have been his 34th birthday. While I am an “experienced” half marathoner, this will be Zach’s first. Matt was diagnosed with a seizure disorder in 2017, so we are honoring his memory and his birthday by raising funds for the Epilepsy Foundation. Any and all donations are much appreciated!

Raising Money for Epilepsy Awareness
November is Epilepsy Awareness Month. As you know, and some may not know, our little man, Bryce Anthony Sebastian was diagnosed with Epilepsy back in October of 2022 at 4 months old. Since then he has had over 25 seizures. Some minor (lasting 5-10 minutes) and a hand full more serious (over 30 minutes). Monica and I have gone through so much this last year just worrying about Bryce and if and when there will be a next seizure. Thankfully, he has no signs of development issues and has hit every milestone according to his pediatrician. We are not raising money for personal use, but to donate to charity to raise awareness and to hopefully help other parents going through the same things we are. We don’t know what causes them or why as we are still going through many medications and testing, but we know he is strong and gets through them. Please help us raise this money for a good cause so we can help others get through this.
