How many $5 bags of concrete will it take to build a skatepark in Delco?

Yeah, we know. A WHOLE LOT! But we are committed to helping fund skateparks in Delaware County . . . .one bag of concrete at a time.

One bag of concrete costs about $5 bucks. So how many bags will you throw in?

It will take thousands of bags of concrete to build a new state of the art skatepark in Delco. We can't get there without your support!

The Delco Skatepark Coalition (www.skatedelco.org) is a non-profit organization of skate enthusiasts (and parents) looking to build adaptive & inclusive skateparks in Delaware County. Skateparks are fantastic spaces for alternative wheels — like scooters, BMXers, rollerbladers, rollerskaters and adaptive riders — who need a place to play.

Delco Skatepark Coalition is fundraising
The finish line to the first skatepark in Chester
We are almost at the finish line for the skatepark at Toby Farms in Chester Township! This will be the first ADA-compliant ground-up concrete skatepark in Delaware County. And we want to make sure it is awesome.

One of our grant sources fell through, so we need to raise $6500 to finish this project. Given that we have one opportunity to make the most of this sweet space, we want to add to the park's footprint and create a shallow-end pool pocket.

In the pictures below you can see what was originally designed and what we are raising additional funds for. Any money above the goal of $6500 will expand the deck space behind the new pool pocket and china bank.

We love this park and want to make it amazing for all the newbie skaters in Chester Township. Worrilow Park backs up to the Toby Farms Intermediate School, a middle school with 300 kids. Our goal is to give them space to play and be creative! Who knows . . . maybe the next Olympic skater gets their start right here in Chester.

As the Delco Skatepark Coalition, it's our mission to help build great skateparks for riders at all levels. Skating is for everyone and we believe the best parks should be ADA-compliant, great for adaptive riders and progressive for all skating abilities. Please help us get over the hump with this park!
