Organized by Environmentally Sound Promotions

Headwaters Files and Music Archive Preservation
Darryl Cherney here, founder and CEO of the non-profit Environmentally Sound Promotions (501c3 since 1999). I've got a 24' double steel hulled storage unit with 15 file cabinets worth of paper and photographic archives that need to be organized so that researchers and writers can have access. And there's a few hundred reel to reel tapes and cassettes of music, poetry and interviews--both 45 years of mine and our Earth First! friends that need to be uploaded and preserved on soundcloud. I've got a great organizer (Nicole Devine) lined up 150 hours @$20/hr. to get this in presentable shape.
Some examples of rare recordings I have include the late Earth First! poet Matthew Hahn, who's album I produced before he died in a hiking accident. I've got Robert Parker singing "Me and Julia Up in the Tree Sit" at a Butterfly Rally in 1999 and other rarities. Of course, there's a fair amount of Judi Bari and my own recordings that date back over 35 years. The paper archives I have include hundreds of Headwaters news articles, photos, posters, press releases and much more.
I've personally spent well over $8000 getting the high end, insulated 24' container here, with all the files put in. And I've set up the digitizing studio in an RV I renovated and modified for this purpose. But it's too much for me to do alone and I don't have the funds to pay someone. Your donation is tax deductable.
