Hi, my name is Amalia, and I’m a high school student passionate about making a real impact. I’m launching this fundraiser to support ENGin, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the English skills of Ukrainians, especially in light of the ongoing crisis.

I’m raising funds to support ENGin’s programs, which provide free, one-on-one English lessons to Ukrainians aged 9 to 35. The funds will go toward supporting ENGin’s continued work, helping Ukrainians improve their language skills and access opportunities for education, employment, and empowerment.

Hello everyone,

I’m Advik Vermani, a senior at West Windsor - Plainsboro High School South, as well as the president and founder of Unite for Ukraine, an ENGin chapter club. On behalf of Unite for Ukraine, I’m excited to announce our “Holiday Season Fundraising Campaign” dedicated to supporting ENGin and the Ukrainian community.

ENGin’s mission has been to empower Ukrainian students by facilitating English proficiency and connecting them to English speaking volunteers across the globe for weekly tutoring sessions. Since their founding in 2020, over 26,000 Ukrainians have benefitted from this program, furthering their educational and professional prospects by bridging language gaps and forming meaningful cross-cultural relationships.

But more importantly, EngIN has created a support network for Ukrainian students and passionate volunteers alike—I myself have made a lifelong friend in my Ukrainian buddy through ENGin and their mission.

At Unite for Ukraine, we function as a local extension of ENGin. We support new volunteers by creating resources and facilitating discussion about experiences as they integrate into the ENGin volunteer community and begin to mentor their Ukrainian buddies. Moreover, we also focus on promoting cultural and social awareness about the situation in Ukraine and the amazing volunteer opportunities offered by ENGin for dedicated high schoolers who want to make a difference.

But there are more ways than to make a difference beyond just volunteering with ENGin! We are raising funds to support ENGin's mission and expand its reach. Your contributions will go towards providing resources, training volunteers, and ensuring the program can continue to offer its services for free. My name is Carina Zheng, and I am excited to share that I am an ambassador for ENGin, a program dedicated to bridging language gaps and fostering global connections. ENGin pairs English-speaking volunteers with Ukrainian students for free online conversation practice. This initiative not only helps students improve their English but also builds meaningful cross-cultural relationships.

As an ambassador, I have witnessed firsthand the incredible impact this program has on both volunteers and students. It empowers young Ukrainians by enhancing their language skills, which opens up new educational and professional opportunities for them. Moreover, it fosters a sense of global community and understanding.

Through ENGin, I have created a real and true connection with my student, who I could not have been more grateful to be paired with. I have been meeting with her every week for nearly a year now, and I definitely consider her as a friend more than a student. This program has brought me nothing but happiness and passion towards helping Ukraine.
