Dear Friends, Family, and Fans-
We are reaching out to you with a heartfelt request for support on behalf of Emeryville Taiko, our beloved taiko drumming group.
As of this month, our group has parted ways with our founder, Susan Horn, after 25 years, and we are embarking on a new phase of our organization’s evolution. After Susan’s departure, we are starting from scratch in terms of drums, and need to build and/or buy drums and equipment. We thank her for her years of generous service, vision, and inspiration.
At present, we have none of the classic taiko drums you recognize for their big sound. We need to build up an inventory of about 20 taiko drums in order to teach kids and adults, and perform in the community. Your contribution to this fundraising campaign, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in helping us replenish our drum inventory. It will allow us to start teaching classes, practicing, and performing again, and to preserve this traditional art form that holds great cultural significance. The rhythmic beats of taiko bring joy, inspiration, and a sense of unity to our students, community, and audiences, and we are determined to keep that spirit alive.
We understand that times are challenging for everyone, and any support you can provide means the world to us. If you are unable to make a financial contribution, we kindly ask for your help in spreading the word about our fundraising campaign. Sharing our story with your network can help us reach more people who may be able to support our cause.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. With your help, we can continue to share the spirit and art of taiko with our community for years to come. Together, we can make a difference and keep the vibrant rhythms of Emeryville Taiko alive.
Your donations to this organization are tax deductible.
