Sweetbriar Nature Center is a local non-profit environmental education/wildlife rehabilitation center located in Smithtown.
Recently you may have heard of our center taking in a large cat that had escaped and was previously someone's pet. We are giving the lynx the care she needs while keeping her in a safe and unstressed environment at the center.
We care for injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife at no cost to the public. We aim to rehabilitate and release the animals that come to the center. Unfortunately, some have injuries that prevent them from surviving back in the wild and are deemed permanently disabled and un-releasable. We care for over 100 non-releasable animals and take in over 2,000 wild animals to rehabilitate every year.
We appreciate any donation that can go towards the care of our animals, and thank you for your contribution.
