Dragon Scale Mallets
Dragon Scale Mallets is a middle school percussion group that meets every day to create and rehearse music. Members of this group are highly motivated and committed; they voluntarily give up their outdoor recess time to play (instruments!) inside.
Dragon Scale Mallets has been invited to the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA) National Conference in Cincinnati next November to perform a concert for music teachers from around the world. Being a member of this group has greatly impacted these students’ lives. They have learned that consistent practice and dedication to the overall success of a group are key to becoming top-notch musicians. The collaborative spirit of Dragon Scale Mallets is one that encourages creativity and risk-taking. With their AOSA performance, these middle schoolers hope to inspire educators to form similar groups in their schools.
Naturally, the students are beyond excited about this opportunity, but they need your help to raise the funds necessary to cover travel expenses. Your donation will go toward airfare and hotel accommodations for the fourteen student members, as well as two adult chaperones. Any donation, no matter how small, will help!
