We URGENTLY need your support!
Dear Friends,
In 2022, the Don Bosco Community Center:
- Distributed 66,000 fresh hot meals to families and individuals through our Monday to Friday Soup Kitchen.
- Distributed 100,000+ pounds of groceries to seniors, families, and individuals in the community suffering from food insecurity.
- Provided 500+ hours -per child- of academic support and STEAM base enrichment through our Monday to Saturday Afterschool and STEAM Enrichment Program, a safe and healthy environment while parents are at work.
- Enrolled 14 first generation highschoolers into college with a financial aid coverage of 80%.
- Educated over 20 children ages 2 and 4 and their parents to be better prepared for school readiness.
This is a small summary of all the great work the Don Bosco Center does tirelessly for the young and those in need. In order to continue this great mission of love, I am excited to share the launching of our first annual appeal, themed "From Hearts to Hands.” I would like to partner with you and all those whose care and compassion bring needed resources for this mission. The work of your heart reaches many hands. And the hands you touch are not just those of our staff and volunteers. The hands are of each community member who comes to the Center to experience a meaningful connection with others in our community.
The Annual Appeal and your support come at a CRITICAL time. The Center will not have access to two main sources of funding this 2023 and the increasing inflation is making it difficult to serve the community. This really is putting the center's future in jeopardy. We need your help to keep this vital resource for our community alive. Our goal for this Quarter is $250,000, we know the power of community. Please make a donation today, no matter how small or how big. Your generosity will make a huge impact. Let's come together to #SupportDonBoscoCenter.
The great work happening at the Don Bosco Community Center is only possible because of your faithful and caring heart. Serving in the role of Executive Director now for almost eleven months, I find it humbling to have the opportunity to help steward such an intentional and meaningful mission. I see the legacy of St. John Bosco at work here every day. Because of your partnership, St. John Bosco’s mission to serve the young and those who need it the most is ever present in the day-to-day workings of the Center.
Sincerely,
Jerry Rodriguez,
Executive Director
