Fido's Story: Advocate for Safe Coexistence
RIP Fido.
02/07/2022-03/17/2025
Fido was the first pet I ever had after I moved out of my parent's place. He was a loving boy who would loved pats, ribs, and watching movies with his dad. Fido was my love and joy. I was always an overweight guy, but getting Fido really made me become a better person, and was a reason to go out and walk every night.
Unfortunately this weekend, during St. Patrick's day, while we were walking around during the parade, there was a loud pop that startled Fido, and caused him to gently bite a toddler. Thankfully, the toddler was fine, but the parents threatened to press charges, and I was made aware of the fact that I would have to give him up. I had to make the hard decision to put him down today, to spare him any pain, as he was a rescue and had a tough life before his life in the shelter.
I have chosen to dedicate his memory to dogsbite.com, in order to inform parents to keep their children secure of dogs. While I'm not blaming the child, there are numerous amounts of reasons why this was actually the parents fault. I hope with proper funding, that I, no we, together can stop needless pitbull euthanization.
