Poindexter Had Surgery
Meet Poindexter, a 5 year old male dachshund with a great attitude and a painful medical condition.
Poindexter had bilateral perineal hernias -- that is a hernia (bulging of an organ or tissue through an abnormal opening) in the pelvic floor.... and it hurts. Perineal hernias cause swelling around a dog's anus and can make it impossible to urinate, defecate, and more. In Poindexter's case, he was unable to urinate or defecate, and the pressure caused a prolapsed rectum (a condition where part of the rectum slips out through the anus).
When Poindexter came into rescue with Diamond Dachshund Rescue of Texas , we made the decision to immediately provide him with the surgery needed to stop the pain he was in. Poindexter is only a few days post-op but is doing well in the care of the veterinarian who performed his surgery.
Now, we need your help to cover the costs associated with this surgery. Every single dollar helps and every single share makes a difference.
