Rebuild their School: Hope for Uganda's Forgotten Children

“Help Us Bring Hope to the Forgotten Children of Uganda”
Imagine a place where children, especially young girls, face unimaginable challenges—abuse, harassment, and the loss of hope for a brighter future. These are the forgotten children of Uganda, whose potential is often overlooked and whose voices remain unheard.
But together, we can change their story.
I’m Celia Kibler, founder of the Day of Calm Foundation, an organization dedicated to bulding a safer, calmer world where children are protected from the harmful impacts of anger, rage & vilence. As a parenting expert and advocate for children’s safety and well-being, I’ve devoted my life to creating environments where children feel valued, respected, and empowered.
Today, I’m asking for your help with a project that’s close to my heart: rebuilding the Brilliant Nursery and Primary School in Western Uganda. This school was originally created as a safe haven for girls escaping abuse and harassment—a place where they could feel safe, receive an education, and dream of a better life.
Having been built with the most basic materials, the school has been able to nurture the community of kids it serves, with most of them not being able to attend school if the Brilliant Nursery & Primary School didn't exist.
Now, the school itself needs help. With crumbling facilities and limited resources, it can no longer fully serve the children who rely on it. The buildings lack floors of any kind, as well as minimal walls, roofs and work areas, as you can see in the video.
The leaders and teachers of the school take all of this in stride in their mission to help their students thrive and continue to find ways to nurture their students through planting seed for food that supplies nutrition like cassava, as well as a new fish pond to feed their students healthy meals they would not get anywhere else.
Here are some of the needs for this school and the cost:
FIRST TERM BUDGET 2025
Teachers Salary (15 teachers): $3,500
Teaching Materials: $350
Club activities: $350
Medical Care: $100
Staff Meals: $1,000
Let's START HERE.... Children's Meals: $500 can feed the school if used sparingly, however $1,000 will feed all of the kids for the whole semester, so they can concentrate on school work and not their hungry stomachs. Many of these children have no food at home, if they even have a home.
Teacher's rent for rooms: $250
BUILDING COSTS: (Naming Rights Available)
Dormitory: $80K
Classroom: $20K
Kitchen: $40K
Library: $30K
Nursery: $20K
Playground & Equipment: $20K
Whole School: $500K
Having worked with these students and staff and virtually teaching them, I’m committed to raising $500,000 to rebuild this essential sanctuary, turning it into a modern, safe, and nurturing environment. Thanks to donated architectural plans from award-winning Curtis-Ginsberg Architects, we are ready to bring this vision to life—but we can’t do it without you.
Your contribution will go directly toward constructing this vital space, empowering these forgotten children with the tools they need to thrive: education, safety, and the hope of a better tomorrow, as well as providing their operational school needs for supplies, salaries and food, estimated at $5,500/semester. (See the details listed above.)
However, every little bit helps to create a lot that this school can grow from. So whatever you can afford, we are eternally grateful.
As part of this campaign, we’re also offering naming opportunities for the buildings, allowing donors to leave a lasting legacy.
I’ve dedicated my life to the health and wellness of children worldwide. Together, we can give these children in Uganda the opportunities they deserve, the future they dream of and a school that they can truly thrive from.

Please join me in turning this vision into reality.
Thank you for standing with me and the forgotten children of Uganda.
