Dare2Draw Supports Human Creators; Join Our Collaborative Initiative
Dare2Draw has been bringing creators together for learning, collaboration, and career growth since 2010. Our new initiative, Creator CODE "Collaborative," brings working New York comic artists together at our studios in Gowanus, Brooklyn, to showcase their work and share their inspirations and techniques with artists around the world.
Honoring Will Eisner, The Champion of the Graphic Novel
Creator CODE "Collaborative" is currently hosting our first group of artists in honor of Will Eisner Week 2026 (March 1-7)... and beyond, as an ongoing working community studio.
Eisner Week celebrates the legacy of Brooklyn-born Will Eisner (1917-2005). Eisner Week is an international event dedicated to promoting graphic novels, literacy, free speech, and the sequential arts. There is no better way to honor his memory than by continuing his work: providing space, community, and opportunity for the next generation of graphic storytellers.
What Does "Creator CODE" Mean?
The code of the Dare2Draw organization is simple:
"We are all creators, and we support each other. Period."
This support has never been more vital. As ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE becomes widespread and ingrained in the creative world, protecting spaces for human-made art is an urgent mission. Creator CODE "Collaborative" is our answer—a dedicated home where human creativity and connection come first.
Support Human Creators
Going forward, Creator CODE "Collaborative" will host ever-changing groups of artists in our tricked-out BK studios, drawing supplies, offering broadband, wifi, peripherals, a lounge, ...and snacks. By supporting this space and project, you are protecting and funding human artistry.
Beyond the Studio: Promoting Creators' Work
A studio is just the beginning. To truly champion our artists, we've established tandem promotional support led by Charles Sincero to on-ramp our participating creators with scheduled work updates across multiple established and new media platforms. This initiative actively promotes:
- Individual artist portfolios, websites and projects
- Collaborative work produced by the Creator CODEcommunity
- Live studio sessions and events
By supporting this space, you aren't just funding a studio. You are funding a launchpad—actively protecting and promoting human artistry in an era of rapid technological change.
Connecting Artists with Opportunity
For years, Dare2Draw has received requests seeking artists for projects and matched them with those opportunities. Now, with dedicated promotional support, Creator CODE "Collaborative" will connect the incredible artists working in our Brooklyn space with the visibility and opportunities they deserve.
Our Funding Goal: Building Sustainability, Together
We are building this initiative step by step, with full transparency about what it takes to keep our doors open. Your support helps us reach key milestones:
$1,500 — Launch the Space (First Goal in March)
Gets our doors open, covers initial supplies, and allows us to host our first artists. This proves there is community demand for a hub protecting human creativity.
$4,500 — Secure Our Foundation (Second Stretch Goal)
Covers our most critical costs—three months of rent ($1,000/month) and core support services ($500/month)—giving us the stability to plan and build meaningful programming, including the promotional support that gets artists seen.
$9,000 — Grow Our Impact (Third Stretch Goal)
Funds a full six months of operations, including enhanced promotion across additional platforms and upgraded studio equipment.
$18,000 — Ensure a Permanent Home (Ultimate Sustainability Goal)
This is our true annual operating need. Reaching this level makes Creator CODE "Collaborative" fully sustainable for a full year. It guarantees a permanent, thriving home in Brooklyn where human artists can gather, create, be promoted, and be supported—free from the worry of month-to-month survival.
Every donation, no matter the size, moves us closer to the next milestone and builds a lasting future for human art.
