Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity

We are Richardson Area Interfaith Habitat.  We have been building Habitat houses since 1993 and we are going to build our 43rd house starting in March. Want to join us in making a difference?  Any money raised here will allow us to do that and benefit Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity.  Any donation will help make an impact. We only build for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity: Seeking to put God's love into action, Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

We are Richardson Area Interfaith Habitat, a group of congregations in Richardson and North Dallas, and we build Habitat for Humanity homes.  We will be building our 42nd Habitat house along with our partner, Thrivent Financial, again this year.  This Walk-a-Thon is the only fund raiser we have each year outside what each of our congregations contributes to our goal.  It is a very important part of allowing us to build Habitat homes.  Want to join us in making a difference?  We are raising money to help finance our next Habitat home build for Dallas Area Habitat for Humanity, and any donation will help make an impact.  Our goal is to enable families to move out of housing situations and neighborhoods that neither you nor I would want to live in. 

By the way, if you are wondering how much money we have to raise and give to Dallas Habitat to build a house, it is $90,000 now.  So as you can see, every donation is important to enable us to continue. Thank you in advance for your sponsorship to this cause that means so much to us. 

We started building Habitat houses in 1993 and have built either one or two houses each year since then.  The picture below is our 41st Habitat family.  The Alba family - Alfonso and Erika and their family.  If you supported us on our last Walk, you helped move them into a wonderful brand new home from the two bedroom rental they were living in.




We are now holding our 25th Annual Walk-a-Thon and plan on doing some new exciting things to raise awareness and participation.  Here is our button for the Walk.   We plan on numbering each pin at sign-in and having a drawing at the end to award some prizes.  So come on and Walk with us. Our Walk is 5 miles long, all in the Canyon Creek area, but we do have a pick-up vehicle that we circle continuously if you find that you need a ride to finish the Walk.  The Walk is scheduled for February 29th.  Sign in starting at 8:30 with kick-off at 9:00 am.  There will be two refreshment stops along the length of the Walk.
