Help Lanning Heal: Support Her Recovery
This is Lanning’s story, a story we see too frequently here in the RGV. She has been through so much in her short three years of life. She’s a mama, as you can tell she’s had a litter or two. She’s severely malnourished, and her teeth are ground down from chewing on hard surfaces. She has a limp in her hind leg that the vet believes to be either an internal fungal infection in her joints or an old injury that never healed properly. She has severe skin issues that require medicated baths twice a week, two daily antibiotics, and a steroid. She’s also on pain medication to help her feel more comfortable. We are still awaiting results for her fecal and for the possible fungal infection and should have results in a week. By the grace of God, she is heartworm negative, but there is microfilaria in her blood, so we have her on preventatives, and she will retest in six months. All funds will go directly to her 501(c)(3) rescue to help cover her vet bills (which have surpassed $1500 so far) and the necessities she needs like food, supplements, and treats.
