Our beloved Little Theatre on Sherman Ave is in need of your help. Earlier this month while we were in the middle of tech for one of our summer productions (and in rehearsals for our Kids at CP show), our HVAC system decided that it couldn’t take this heat wave any longer. Our actors and audiences persevered through the high temperatures and we were fortunate to have an incredible turnout. Unfortunately, summer is far from over and we are gearing up to start rehearsals for our fall production alongside our kids summer show.

We are determined to recover from this and focus on our remaining shows for 2024 as we plan for an INCREDIBLE 79th season. However, this is proving to be difficult as we have been blindsided by high repair costs for our AC. We are in need of help from our Cumberland Players family far and wide in raising funds to finish the repairs on our HVAC system

For over 77 years, Cumberland Players Community Theater in Vineland, NJ has had the privilege of bringing quality classic and contemporary theatrical productions to audiences throughout South Jersey. As the county's longest continually running community theater, our includes a vast range of genres including musicals, classic and contemporary plays, original works and our educational theater program, Kids at CP, which we have offered completely free of charge for over 22 years.

From its beginning, Cumberland Players has been run completely by a small, dedicated group of volunteers. Our performance space is almost 100 years old and, as you can imagine, often in need of repairs and upgrades to keep our building safe and accessible. Occasionally, these efforts come with higher financial commitments.

As we enter our 78th season with 6 exciting shows for our community, and in an effort to continue our tradition of excellence, we have found it necessary to replace our aging sound equipment to a new and improved state of the art system. To help control costs, much of the physical labor of disassembling the old system will be done by volunteers. Additionally, two qualified theater members will be working alongside our contracted sound engineer to install the new system, further cutting labor costs.

To jumpstart our project, we are starting a campaign to raise $10,000 to complete our upgrade. Included in the upgrade will be all new wiring, house speakers, performance monitors, boundary microphones, a 16-channel digital sound board, stage rack, power amplifier and devices to assist our patrons who may be hearing impaired.
