About Crisis House:

Crisis House, a non-profit located in East San Diego County, provides crucial services to women, men, and children who have experienced domestic violence, homelessness, health conditions, and lack of access to food and housing. The resource center contains emergency and social services, a 24-hour crisis line, and professional counseling for those in a crisis.

Crisis House's mission is to respond immediately to stop the cycle of domestic violence and homelessness and connect families and individuals to crucial resources that will provide empowerment to renew their lives.

Crisis House has a proven record of success with 99% of individuals and families who leave transitional housing moving forward with permanent housing.

Every year, roughly 145+ families' needs are served and addressed, with a 96% success rate. Various services are provided to stop life-threatening circumstances and focus on a path of renewal.

Misconceptions:

Most homeless people live on the streets.

False: 60% of homeless individuals live in shelters, cars, or temporary housing arrangements not on the streets.

All unhoused individuals are homeless because they made poor life decisions.

False: Many people experience homelessness due to circumstances beyond their control. The loss of a job, eviction, medical emergencies, or fleeing an abusive relationship.

Why I am advocating for Crisis House:

As a former resident of East County San Diego, I have witnessed the struggle of homelessness. Crisis House dedicates their time, resources, and heart into their work to provide a second chance to unhoused individuals. Through their extensive programs, people are shown resources and guidance after securing permanent housing that allows them to maintain their residency. By addressing the rise of homeless populations and the effects of domestic violence, donations are needed to create plans that benefit the community and businesses as well. That's why I am raising funds for an empowering and compassionate organization. Join me in reaching this goal and creating a difference in San Diego!

For over 50 years, they have been combating the stigma surrounding homelessness, offering crucial services to those in need. With a proven success rate of 96%, Crisis House has become a cornerstone of the San Diego community. As the issue of homelessness continues to grow in the region, the organization urgently requires additional support to expand its efforts and continue making a significant impact.

When I started my internship at Crisis House, I didn’t know how much it would change me. Seeing families rebuild their lives and kids smiling after receiving just a little kindness hit me. These aren’t just numbers or statistics; they are real people with real struggles who need us.

We are working with an amazing nonprofit organization called Crisis House. This organization is San Diego based and has been helping the community hands on for the past 50 years! They aim to help and support individuals who are struggling to overcome complex and challenging circumstances, including homelessness, domestic violence, addiction, health conditions, and lack of access to food and housing. We connect them to services that can help stop life-threatening circumstances and put them on a path to renew their lives. We solve homelessness for 99% of the families and individuals who graduate from our housing programs and we prevent thousands from experiencing homelessness each year. We keep people safe in our Journey Programs serving women and children fleeing from domestic violence.
