Emergency surgery for Princess!
Many of us know the story of sweet Princess. She found herself in a loud and scary kill shelter after being abandoned by her family when they moved out of state. She was incredibly shut down and depressed. Our rescue was able to get her into a loving foster home and she has been SO happy ever since! A brand new dog for sure! She was ready to meet her potential adopters next weekend, but found herself in emergency surgery tonight 3/23/21. Thankfully her foster recognized something wasn’t quite right and took her to the Animal ER. Princess has what is called a Pyometra, which is a very serious infection of the womb, also known as the 'uterus'. It's caused by the womb filling with pus and, if left untreated, it can lead to kidney failure, toxaemia, dehydration and, in some cases, death. We are giving her the best care possible and are hopeful she will come through surgery well and live a wonderfully full life, which she so deserves! We need help to cover these unexpected costs to our rescue. If you can donate anything, we’d be extremely appreciative! Her surgery and care is estimated to cost us $1900. Thank you for the consideration.
