Earth Animal's 14th Annual Mitten Project 2021
Since 1979, Earth Animal has been dedicated to caring for animals, people and the Earth. We’ve called Westport, CT our home for over 40 years, and we believe we can offer support and resources, and give back to the many local families in need.
Since the pandemic, the need for food in our communities is greater today than ever before. The unexpected consequence of COVID-19 and the loss of jobs and income has resulted in an enormous increase in the number of people that are food insecure. This means 490,000 people, including 131,000 children, have turned to The Connecticut Food Bank for the first time. The CFB has provided 47 million meals in the past year, for people of all walks of life-children, working parents, seniors or people living with disabilities. They are our neighbors.
It is time for Action and Change. Even in a state as wealthy as Connecticut, there is a huge need for assistance. Earth Animal’s Mitten Project™ has offered support to the CFB, and this year we are on a mission to help more than ever.
