CABLE's mission is to enhance the knowledge of law enforcement professionals on issues related to mental health through: 1. CRISIS INTERVENTION TEAM (CIT) TRAINING to provide tools and options for law enforcement officers to safely prevent and de-escalate potentially volatile situations. Law enforcement officers learn to connect people in mental health crises to community-based mental health resources instead of arrest whenever possible. 2. PEER SUPPORT AND RESILIENCY TRAINING for law enforcement to encourage daily self-care and to provide knowledge and resources to assist fellow officers who may be in crisis.
