Concord Elementary PTA 6.15.76

Please help our community support a family in need. A child and his mother at our school face deportation in about 2 weeks. The child has muscular dystrophy and uses a wheelchair, his mother is fighting cancer, and they are currently homeless. Their home country is Honduras which will not be able to serve their medical needs. This is a true emergency for this family, and Concord PTA is asking you to please dig deep and contribute to their imminent legal and housing needs.  This family is in dire need--please help!

El niño tiene distrofia muscular y usa una silla de ruedas, su madre está luchando contra el cáncer y actualmente no tiene hogar. Su país de origen es Honduras, en el cual no podra cubrir sus necesidades médicas. Esta es una verdadera emergencia para esta familia, y la Asociacion de Padres y maestros de la escuela Concord les pide que porfavor contribuya con sus necesidadesurgentes legales y de vivienda. Esta familia está en extrema necesidad, ¡por favor ayuda!

Concord International Elementary School is an incredible school with bright, hard-working kids, loving families, and passionate staff. Concord serves a high-poverty community--75% of our kids qualify for Free and Reduced Lunch and many of our kids benefit from our weekly Backpack program, which sends home meals over the weekend. When winter break comes next month, many of our families will be hard-pressed to make up for the lack of breakfast, lunch, and weekend backpacks. Our PTA was not able to find the funds to alleviate this issue when we budgeted last spring. Please consider donating to this campaign.  Any money we raise will go to grocery gift cards to the 40 kids currently in our backpack program. We would love to raise enough for $50 for each kid for the 16 days away from the food programs. Thank you!
