Conception Abbey exists in order to: - Praise God and become more Christ-like through living a common life as given in the Rule of St. Benedict; - Cultivate a love of the Liturgy and Divine Office; - Proclaim the Good News of salvation; - Minister though Christ-like service to all in its Guest Department, Printery House, parishes, hospitals, and convents; - Be open to ministry to rural people by wise stewardship of the land and natural resources; - Prepare students for the priesthood to meet the needs of the Church; - Be ready to found new communities of Benedictine life, wherever the Holy Spirit and the Church call. The Mission of Conception Seminary College is the preparation of candidates for the ordained ministry in the Roman Catholic Church through spiritual, intellectual, and character formation in the Benedictine tradition. To fulfill this mission, we seek to: - Provide a holistic approach to education, where academi, spiritual, and character formation programs complement one another; - Respond to the needs of the Church in preparing prospective ministers; - Provide the human, financial, and learning resources essential to its formational endeavors; and - Maintain a qualified faculty, a useful and supportive library, and effective administration practices.
