Francisco is 5 years old and comes from a poor family in rural Guatemala. He was born deaf with a condition known as Bilateral Neurosensorial Hypoacusis. Compassion Medicine, Inc., a 501c3 non-profit organization, has paid to have testing on Francisco  to determine what options he has for hearing. His only option is to have a cochlear implant surgically implanted in each of his ears. This will allow Francisco to hear for the very first time in his life!! The surgery can be conducted as soon as the funds are raised and Compassion Medicine, Inc. is working with several companies that make cochlear implants to select the best implant for Francisco and are also partnering with surgeons that are willing and capable of doing the surgery. Except for the funding, we are ready to see that Francisco hears for the first time in his life! We plan to take a video of his first experience hearing and will be sharing on our website (www.compassionmedicine.org). We need your help in raising $32,000 for Francisco to hear. Can you imagine having $32,000 stand in the way of you hearing for the first time in your life? These funds cover all the costs of the cochlear implants for both ears, the surgery costs, and 2 years of follow-up therapy to ensure that Francisco knows how to correctly use his implant and benefit from it the most. 100% of all funds collected will go toward Francisco's implants. Compassion Medicine, Inc., as a 501c3 non-profit, will accept and distribute the funds to the necessary parties to ensure that Francisco receives the care he needs.
