Natural Disaster Hits Micro-School Hard
Dear Community Friends,
Our microschool, Compass Outreach and Education Center, located in Fort Lauderdale, has recently experienced a severe flood that has left us in a state of shock and devastation. Over 4 feet of water entered our premises, causing significant damage to our school. The floodwaters came through the doors and walls, leaving us with a massive cleanup and restoration job ahead of us.
Unfortunately, we did not have flood insurance due to the high cost and deductible in our area. We are now faced with the financial burden of repairing the damage caused by the flood. As a mom-invented microschool, we do not have the same resources as larger educational institutions and desperately need your help.
We have identified a restoration company, disposed of unusable items, and ordered storage pods for salvageable items. Demolition has begun to prevent mold growth and we are working to secure a temporary space to resume classes immediately.
Our school community needs your support to complete this process and return our microschool to its former state. Every donation, no matter how small, will significantly impact and help us achieve our goal of restoring our microschool to a safe and secure learning environment for our students.
Your support will help us cover the restoration costs, including repairs to ensure we don’t experience similar issues again, equipment, temporary space, and materials needed to get our microschool back up and running. We know times are tough, but please consider donating to our micro-school’s GoFundMe account to help us overcome this challenging situation.
We appreciate your prayers during this difficult time and look forward to welcoming our students back to our campus soon. Thank you for your support!
Compass Outreach and Education is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
