Hey everyone,

COVID Run is a non-profit fundraiser set up by Kamran and Andrew, two high school Freshmen from Homestead High School in Cupertino, California. Our goal is to provide aid to those in need during this pandemic. 

The Coronavirus has taken a huge toll on all aspects of life and the economy, resulting in 22 million Americans unemployed [Washington Post ]  and many more starving. Throughout the nation, families and individuals aren’t able to put food on the table and support themselves in the wake of this devastating crisis. 

We are partnering with the Community Services Agency of Mountain View, Los Altos & Los Altos Hills as well as Sunnyvale Community Services and West Valley Community Services to ensure that our entire region will be covered by our fundraiser. 

OUR PLAN:

As two friends wanting to make a difference and provide light in this situation, our goal is to raise $25,000 in aid to fight against food insecurity during this pandemic. This may seem like an impossible feat, but there is a way to accomplish this. Not only are we asking for your donation, but we are challenging you to run or walk 1 mile for every $5 you donate while following the guidelines laid out by the CDC  (You are welcome to ask others to help you complete the challenge). Make sure you take a photo of you running or walking with how far you ran and post it to Instagram or Twitter and tag @COVIDRun or #covidrunsv.

These generous donations will then be taken by Community Services Agency of Mountain View and Los Altos (CSA) and evenly split three-ways between each organization to allow them to continue their important work of helping our neighbors. 

HOW TO HELP:

1. Make a donation! Remember, any donation counts!
2. Complete the Challenge: Take a photo of you running/walking and with how far you ran and post it to Twitter or Instagram while tagging us @COVIDrun or using #covidrunsv
3. Spread the Word!

While we are very fortunate to not have to worry about where our next meal will come from, we are extremely grateful for this privilege and would like to help others who are not as fortunate. By donating to our cause, you are directly impacting our community and are helping CSA, SCS, and WVCS  in preventing people from going hungry. As a community, we can come together during these tough times and use the pandemic in a way that grows us closer and helps our communities even though we must stay physically distant. From all of you guys, we are thankful for any support you can give to our fundraiser and hope you have a safe, wonderful day in these crazy times.
