Organized by Community Health & Wellness

Mo's Kids@Core Reunited!
Typically, kids from low-income neighborhoods do not have access to the same athletic, fitness and wellness programs available to kids from middle and upper class communities. This includes organized sports offered through the schools, or private programs, and even gyms where kids attend with parents, but typically at a monthly membership cost which is often unaffordable by the low-income families.
As a result, these kids do not get the same opportunities to gain experience through fitness programs , nutrition coaching, or coaching in organized sports that helps other advantaged kids achieve desired levels of physical fitness and competitive advantage. Even when funding or scholarships are available, kids from low-income areas are often uncomfortable joining organized sports teams or fitness programs, so they miss out on opportunities to improve their health and wellness.
Through Mo's Kids@Core, we help kids fight obesity and diabetes by teaching healthy eating and introducing activities that help with weight control. Our programs, and programs like ours, are proven to help kids improve their overall wellness, reduce stress, improve confidence, and even perform better in school. We provide a positive, controlled environment that is an alternative to playing on the streets or being home alone!
Due to risk associated with COVID-19, Mo's Kids@Core suspended on-site programs from March 2020 through December 2021. Kids aged 14 – 17 were able to participate in adult fitness programs but have not had access to usual kid’s programs including nutrition education, cooking classes, yoga, and more.
In January 2022, we are reinstating our on-site wellness program including, but not limited to, kid-specific general fitness classes, weightlifting for teens, nutrition education and cooking classes. Programs will be available to children ages 8-17 years-old with appropriate parental or guardian support/approval.
Your generous donation to the Community Health & Wellness Mo’s Kids@Core program will help change the lives of children from low-income neighborhoods in Downtown Phoenix neighborhoods through improved health and fitness. We use donated funds to provide healthy snacks, athletic shoes, and clothing, and to cover other expenses that directly benefit our kids.
In Arizona, an individual income tax credit is available for contributions to Qualifying Charitable Organizations that provide assistance to residents of Arizona who receive Temporary Assistance of Needy Families (TANF) benefits, are low-income residents of Arizona, or are children who have a chronic illness or physical disability. Community Health & Wellness dba Mo’s Kids@Core meets one or more of these criteria.
