Imagine being full of potential, but locked out of opportunity because you can’t afford access to the skills that power our world today. That’s the reality for too many people in marginalized communities across Dallas.
At the Community Coding Project, we believe coding is not a privilege; it’s a pathway, a pathway to stable jobs, self-sufficiency, and brighter futures.
We are a passionate team of professionals and volunteers living and working in the Dallas–Fort Worth area, united by a simple idea: helping others is not an act of charity it’s human decency. That’s why we founded this 501(c)(3) nonprofit to open doors to computer science for those who are too often left out.
Why Coding Matters
Coding is more than typing lines of code. It’s problem solving, creativity, and empowerment. It’s the difference between being just a user of technology and becoming a creator of it.
Yet, in underserved communities, coding classes are either unavailable or too expensive. That means countless people youth with dreams, adults in recovery, underemployed workers are denied a skill that can literally change their lives.
We exist to change that.
Relationships we are building
- The Bridge Homeless Recovery Center teaching HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to adults rebuilding their lives.
- Barack Obama Male Leadership Academy introducing coding to young men of color, inspiring the next generation of creators (implemenation coming soon).
And this is just the beginning.
Our Vision
With your support, we can:
- Hire full-time instructors to teach in-demand languages like Python, SQL, C++, and more.
- Design an engaging, hands-on curriculum that makes coding fun and practical.
- Expand to more Dallas ISD campuses, giving thousands of students access to real- world tech training.
- Provide scholarships so students can continue advanced training in college or technical schools.
- Cover essentials like materials, volunteer incentives, and outreach so no student is ever turned away.
Why We Need You:
Traditional grants are drying up. Without community support, opportunities will vanish for those who need them most.
Every dollar you give goes directly into classrooms putting laptops in front of students, skilled teachers by their side, and hope in their futures.
Your donation isn’t just money. It’s:
• A young man writing his first line of code.
• A woman in recovery landing her first tech job.
• A community breaking free from poverty one skill at a time.
