Hello! We are Climb Angola, a group of climbers committed to developing rock climbing in Angola, and we need your support to make history. Our mission is threefold:
1. Showcase Angola’s World-Class Rock Climbing
We are putting Angola on the global map as a climbing destination, inviting adventurers from around the world to experience its stunning rock formations.
2. Grow the Local Climbing Community
We are inspiring, training, and equipping Angolans to take ownership of the incredible climbing opportunities in their own country. Together, we’re building a strong community of homegrown climbers.
3. Support Remote Mountain Communities
By developing climbing tourism, we are bringing economic support to the remote, mountainous communities located near these incredible rocks, offering new opportunities for growth and sustainability.
Our Next Big Goal: Angola’s First Climbing Gym in Luanda
We are excited to announce that we’re planning to build Angola’s first-ever climbing gym in the heart of Luanda, the capital city! We’ve secured an amazing venue — a former soap factory turned community hub located in a thriving yet underserved neighborhood just 10 minutes from downtown.
This venue already hosts:
- Art facilities to nurture and showcase local talent
- Trade schools offering skills like medicine, metalwork, and carpentry
- A café and coffee shop that provides a social space for the community
- Sport facilities free for local schools
- A large event space used for community sports like capoeira
Now, we’re adding a climbing gym to this vibrant mix!
What We’re Building: A 3,000 sq ft Climbing Facility
Our vision is to create a top-notch climbing gym featuring bouldering, and lead climbing. This space will not only introduce the joy of climbing to Luanda but also serve as a platform for:
- Workshops and climbing programs for local youth and community groups
- Coaching and mentorship for future Angolan climbers
- Training opportunities for the first generation of Angolan climbing instructors who will ultimately take full ownership of the gym and continue its mission.

Thanks to the generosity of our venue partners, we have secured the space rent-free. Now, we need your help to bring our dream to life.
We’re raising $50,000 to cover the construction and setup costs for the climbing gym. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a huge difference!
