About College Area Community Garden
The Garden established a community based organic garden/urban farm which now has an attractive network of raised beds and related areas to foster a greater sense of community between local residents and SDSU affiliates. It's sustained in part by charging low fees for over 100 garden beds, and by grants and donations. In partnership with local subject matter experts, the community garden sponsors educational workshops and hosts classes on organic farming practices, planet friendly agricultural methods, water-wise irrigation and rain collection and storage methods. Workshops and classes promote healthy soils, water, food crops and eco systems. Our efforts are coordinated with other local and regional community gardens as well as local, state and federal agencies.
