Empower Girls: Code Literacy for All
$865 per year, that's all it takes to educate one student in the Language of Code!
What if 78% of the population was unable to communicate their ideas?
Computer coding is a language, and today only 22% of people fluent in code are women. Women's voices are not heard. In our Native and rural communities, this underrepresentation is even greater.
Code Girls United is ensuring that girls in our Native and rural communities are given the opportunity to learn the language of code. We are working to bridge the gap of fluency so that their stories and perspectives are not lost, women are not left illiterate and closed off from opportunities. If you teach girls to code, then they will be able to speak, write, and read code.
