Support an Independent Native Lakota Movie Production!
In 2019, The Cloud Horse Art Institute and Reel Jobs Film School in Kyle, South Dakota completed the very first feature film completed entirely by a Native American student crew and cast called "Mallard's Road". The heartwarming film won over audiences at the SkinFest Film Festival, where it premiered at the Chinese Theater and named the Runner-Up in the "Achievement in Film Category", and now streams worldwide. Now the staff and students at Cloud Horse are CURRENTLY IN PRODUCTION AND HALF WAY COMPLTED with their second 100% Lakota-Made Feature Film Project and they are looking for your help! They have an incredible bi-lingual script from the same authors as "Mallard's Road", called "With You In Spirit". We have returning local crew! We have new students (up to 35 registered)! We even have the equipment, including cameras, lighting, audio and editing computers! And we have the beautiful and priceless landscape and setting of the Kyle community, the Pine Ridge Reservation and surrounding Badlands National Park. Now all we need is the resources to train our new generation of Lakota filmmakers and get them ready for the Summer Production of "With You in Spirit".
Your contribution will go directly to the Cloud Horse non-profit registered with GoFundMe. Funds will be used to to pay our hard working student crew, as well as costs of production including travel, food, set building, casting and equipment.
As a contributor to our project we promise to keep you updated through this exciting and important project with emails, photographs and videos throughout the production this summer and beyond. Everyone will also receive an official "Thank You" credit in the final film project! And of course, we will welcome you to our community for our World Premiere someday!
