Concert on the Corner: Turn Up the Music!
FUNDRAISING GOAL
Equip volunteer sound techs with sound systems and amplification to ensure a quality experience for both musicians and audiences.
After hosting the first Concert on the Corner in July 2023 that featured local musicians from the Marin Music Jam, individual musicians and bands excitedly asked to play at CPC (Christ Presbyterian Church). Within a week of the initial event, CPC scheduled two more Concerts on the Corner for October and November.
The community energy to create these events and support local musicians is palpable! CPC wants to use the grounds and accessible facilities to increase community access to music through Concerts on the Corner.

SOUNDSYSTEM AND AMPLIFICATION
We need it all, down to the 10' power strips. After a visit to local music store Bananas at Large, we are ready to invest in a number of Yamaha and Pig Hog products to ensure quality sound and amplification for the musicians and audiences.
2022-2023 CONCERTS AT CPC
CPC is brimming with live music! CPC hosts a variety of musical events throughout the year, including:
- The Kyle Athayde Dance Party, a 20-person bi-coastal big band that frequently performs at Dizzy’s Club at Lincoln Center, NYC
- Marin School of the Arts Jazz Band and Vocal Group
- Fulbright Scholar and Professor Nishaant Singh on the Pakhawaj, Singh is the “torchbearer” for this ancient drum
- Miller Creek Middle School Jazz Ensemble
- Kyle Athayde, vibraphone, and Parker Grant, piano, performing “Crystal Silence” following their SFJazz performance
- Soloists from SF Opera and City Opera
- Local musicians from Terra Linda
All of these performances took place indoors, help us expand outdoors with Concerts on the Corner!

ABOUT CPC
Religious institutions need to change to support the needs of the community. Christ Presbyterian Church is responding. CPC is a safe and welcoming community hub that is active beyond Sunday mornings. Our mission is to gather people into caring community relationships.
All community events are free and non-religious.
CPC'S COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
- Concert on the Corner: Produce multi-generational concerts and performances featuring local musicians, bands, and artists
- Give and Take Programs: increase recycling of baby and child gear and clothing through semi-annual donation events and future free boutique; a well-stocked Marin Community Fridge with food available 24/7
To ensure the success and longevity of the Concerts on the Corner and Give and Take programs, CPC hired an events manager to organize, publicize, and produce all free community events.
Thank you for partnering with CPC and Concerts on the Corner with your generous gift!
