Join my Half Marathon Mission to Support CHiPS Soup Kitchen
Hi, my name is Paige, and four weeks ago, I signed up for my very first half marathon! I've never attempted a distance anywhere near this before, but I’ve decided to dedicate 2024 to stepping out of my comfort zone. Along the way, I’ve discovered a newfound passion for fitness and wellness as the perfect outlet to push my limits and grow.
Another key focus for me this year has been volunteering and giving back to the community. I found a second home in this mission at CHiPS—a soup kitchen, food pantry, and shelter for women with young children, located on 4th Avenue between Park Slope and Gowanus in Brooklyn.
CHiPS' mission is simple yet profound: to fight food insecurity and homelessness in New York City. With a soup kitchen and food pantry open six days a week, CHiPS provides thousands of meals and a safe haven for those in need. Their success is powered entirely by community support, making every contribution incredibly meaningful.
As the holidays approach, I wanted to combine my personal challenge with a way to make an impact. If you’re unable to volunteer in person this season, here’s a meaningful opportunity to support both my run and the NYC community:
How Your Gift Helps:
$27 = Provides 6 hot meals in our soup kitchen
$162 = Provides 36 hot meals
$215 = Covers one month of shelter for an expecting mother
$283 = Covers one month of shelter for a mother and child

$50/month = Provides 133 hot meals annually
By breaking it down, just $4.50 provides one hot meal at CHiPS, showing how even small acts of kindness add up to significant change.
