Organized by Childrens Museum of the South Bay T He Kidssploration Station

South Bay Kids Museum
Every child deserves a place where curiosity is celebrated — where they can touch, build, imagine, and discover. But right now, families across the South Bay don't have that place close to home.
There is no children's museum in our community. For a trip to one, parents are looking at a long drive, highway traffic, and a full-day commitment just to give their kids the kind of hands-on, joyful learning experience that children in other parts of LA take for granted.
That's what we're changing.
The South Bay Kids Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit being built — by and for this community — to be a place full of wonder and curiosity at the heart of where we live. A place where children discover, families connect, and everyone belongs.
Why Now. Why Here.
The South Bay is home to tens of thousands of families. We have incredible schools, dedicated parents, and kids bursting with imagination. What we don't have is a space designed entirely around them.
Children's museums aren't just fun — they're foundational. Research consistently shows that hands-on, play-based learning builds critical thinking, creativity, and social-emotional skills in ways that classrooms alone cannot. Every community deserves that resource within reach.
We believe ours does too.
What Your Gift Makes Possible
We're raising $450,000 in seed funding to lay the groundwork for this museum the right way — thoughtfully, sustainably, and with deep roots in the community.
Here's exactly what these funds will go toward:
• Community Feasibility Survey — Listening first. We'll gather data directly from South Bay families to shape a museum that truly reflects what our community needs.
• Branding Development — Building an identity that feels warm, welcoming, and unmistakably ours.
• Visitor Experience Planning — Designing the flow, the feeling, and the story of what it's like to walk through our doors.
• Architectural Renderings — Turning the vision into something you can see — and believe in.
• Legal & Real Estate Counsel — Securing the right space and the right structure to build something that lasts.
• Lease Deposit to secure our location
This is the seed that grows the museum. Every dollar raised here moves us from dream to blueprint.
Who We Are
My name is Christina Domer, I'm the founder of the South Bay Kids Museum, and this project is personal. I've watched families in our community make do — driving far, paying more, or simply going without — for the kind of enriching, accessible family experiences that should exist right here.
I started this because I believe the South Bay deserves better. And I know that with this community behind it, we can build something extraordinary together.
How You Can Help
Whether you give $25 or $2,500, you are part of the founding story of this museum.
Your contribution today funds the planning that makes everything else possible. And when we open our doors — and we will — you'll know you helped build the place where a child in our community had their first 'aha' moment.
Please donate. Please share. And please know how much it means.
Together, let's build the place our kids deserve — right here, in the South Bay.

Use of Funds. All funds raised through this campaign will be applied exclusively toward the foundational planning activities described above, including: community feasibility research, branding development, visitor experience planning, architectural renderings, and legal and real estate counsel necessary to establish the South Bay Kids Museum.
No Guarantee of Opening. While we are fully committed to bringing this museum to life, contributions to this campaign are made in support of the planning and development phase only. Donating to this campaign does not guarantee that the museum will ultimately open. If sufficient total funding — beyond this seed round — is not secured, or if unforeseen circumstances prevent the project from moving forward, the museum may not open. Perks tied to the museum's physical opening, such as admission passes, membership, event tickets, and wall recognition, are contingent on the museum opening and cannot be provided if it does not.
Non-Refundable Contributions. Donations made through GoFundMe are generally non-refundable. In the event that the project does not advance to opening, funds already expended on planning activities described above will not be returned.
Good Faith Commitment. The organizers of this campaign commit in good faith to using all funds raised solely for the purposes stated, to providing regular updates to donors on project progress, and to notifying donors promptly if the project is materially altered or discontinued.
Tax Deductibility. The South Bay Kids Museum is a registered 501(c)(3) organization, and contributions made through this GoFundMe campaign are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. If your gift tier includes goods or services (such as admission passes, membership, or event tickets), the value of those items is not deductible, and only the amount of your gift exceeding that value may be deducted — see the fair market value notes above. You will receive a written acknowledgment for your records. Please be advised that this is not tax advice and consult your tax advisor regarding your specific situation.
