Wow! We are getting hit hard all at once! Canelo & Twist need your help! 

We took in Canelo recently from his owner who couldn't care for him any longer. He has been a sweet boy and his foster family adores him. They got extremely concerned when he started vomiting and couldn't keep anything down. He was rushed to the vet this am and after a lot of tests, it was discovered that he most likely had a foreign body lodged in his small intestine.

We are in desperate need to save his life. He is currently headed into surgery and we need help to cover this completely unexpected bill.

Twist aka PokyMan came to us as a breeder surrender and we are so thankful that they didn't euthanize him like their original plan. He has multiple congenital deformities and one became quite urgent to correct even though the specialists thought that waiting a few more months was the ideal time. It was a high risk surgery to resect his palate which will help him breathe and hopefully minimize any food regurgitation. He already developed aspiration pneumonia once and he will always be susceptible to that but this surgery may help. His breathing and regurgitation issues became more severe so the surgery had to be moved up.

Sweet Smokey needs some help. Smokey was given up to a shelter in December, 2020 when his family could not afford to treat his skin infection. Smokey had been suffering for a long time and they did what they thought was best for him. Their wish was for him to find someone that could care for him the way he deserved. One of our volunteers saw his picture and knew that we needed to help him. 

We have had Smokey at the vet countless times for both routine and emergency visits, tried a bunch of different medications, had soothing baths done weekly, and watched him as he would get better and then revert back to open sores, crusty lesions, and constant itching. His feet swell and cause him pain and his ears itch badly. Allergy testing proved that he is allergic to A LOT of things. We were finally able to get into a dermatology specialist and they have determined that the allergies are the least of his issues.

We are hoping that the dermatologist can finally come up with the underlying diagnosis. Right now they are suspecting an autoimmune disease but he needs to undergo skin biopsies, testing, and a lot more medication. We are in dire need of help to cover his costs to determine what he has going on along with the treatments.

2020 has sucked for everyone even the dogs!Our sweet Alley finally found a forever family after being in rescue for 9 months but after further checking right before adoption, we found that she has a complete ACL tear in one knee and a partial tear in the other. CBBR needs to raise $3500 for her 1st surgery which is scheduled for 12/30. Can you help us and Alley out? Chango the Handsome Pittie is one of the mascots for Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue. His fun pictures and posts have helped win contests for CBBR and he is a source of entertainment for all of us. 

Chango just celebrated his 12th birthday in October and has been doing great! However, the last couple of days have been a bit rough on him and his momma got him into the vet right away. The vet found a mass on his spleen and immediate surgery was recommended. He is in surgery at this moment and we are anxiously awaiting the results.
