Chester County Food Bank

Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, I will be unable to hold a traditional Court of Honor. While this is disappointing to me and my parents, it is a small sacrifice to be made in the interest of public health. 

I intend to use this as an opportunity to serve our local community. The Eagle Charge calls me to: "Be among those who dedicate their skills and ability to the common good, and build America on the solid foundations of unselfish citizenship." My first action as an Eagle scout will be to turn this unfortunate situation into an opportunity to help our local community.  

My family will donate the funds we would have spent on a Court of Honor to the Chester County Food Bank, which is meaningful to me since I have volunteered there in the past. This go fund me is an opportunity for others to contribute as well.

It’s difficult to believe that there are hungry children in Chester County, but we have neighbors in need of help, and the Chester County Food Bank provides that help.  In fact, the Food Bank has announced that they will help local government workers who are not receiving pay checks during the government shutdown.  What you may not know is that the Food Bank not only accepts food donations, but they accept monetary donations as well.  Such donations enable them to purchase approximately 42% of their total fresh and non-perishable food inventory.  For every $1 they receive, they can buy $3-$4 worth of food through a network of wholesalers, farmers and the food industry.

So, if you intend to donate food, that is great, but if you want to donate money to the R.J. Macaleer Food Drive, I want to make it easy for you.
