Please Support "Cats Cradle Rescue"! We are open and welcome all! Coronavirus shut the doors to our Ventura County based Thrift Store and Adoption Center for three full months last year. On June 12, 2020, when we re-opened, we had fewer volunteers, fewer days, fewer hours and smaller customer capacity. This still holds true today. These reductions have impacted the needed revenues to cover our monthly and annual overhead. All donations are IRS 100% tax deductible (Federal Tax ID #770552733.) Cats Cradle Rescue is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to improving the health and welfare of local homeless and abandoned cats and kittens. Our volunteers rescue unwanted and abandoned cats and kittens, provide food, bottle-feeding of newborns, housing and love, care for their medical and other needs so they are adoptable, ensure they are spayed or neutered, and adopt them into loving homes. For cats who are not adoption candidates, we improve the quality of their lives through TNR, feeding, medical and relocation.

Help Give Vanilla Bean a Fighting Chance!
Meet "Vanilla Bean," a sweet 5-week-old lynx point kitten, one of 4 kitten siblings we call the "Beanie Babies." Yesterday "Vanilla Bean" was playing with his siblings when he took a bad fall directly onto his back. At first it seemed he only had the wind knocked out of him, but he was able to walk and ate a big meal, so his foster mom thought he was going to bounce back.

Unfortunately in the early morning hours, "Vanilla Bean" started having seizures which were getting progressively worse in a short amount of time. So at 2:00AM his foster mom bundled "Vanilla Bean" up and drove him straight to the 24-Hour Emergency Vet.

The veterinarian on duty says "Vanilla Bean" has a guarded prognosis, and we can't really know more without tests to see what might be going on. They have controlled his seizures with medication, and are keeping him stabilized with the hopes we can get a neurologist consult tomorrow to see where we stand.

We need your help to give "Vanilla Bean" a fighting chance! If you are able, please donate...every little bit helps! We don't know what tomorrow will bring, we hope it brings an answer as to what we need to do to help this sweet kitten, but without the funds to run the diagnostics we don't have hope even for that answer. The initial estimate for hospitalization and tests is between $2500 and $3000. Any funds beyond what is needed for Vanilla Bean's care, will be used to help other cats and kittens in need.

Volunteers with Cats Cradle Rescue foster dozens of kittens each year, and we face many different challenges with our foster kittens. From minor medical issues, to teaching the tiniest kittens to drink from a bottle so they can thrive, we have all learned the hard way that through no fault of ours or theirs, not all of them are going to make it.

But the hardest situation to accept is when the challenge we face is not having enough funds to even give a baby a fighting chance. With your help we can give even more kittens the care they need to live long, happy, healthy lives.

Give Somalia's Lost Cats a Second Chance
Help Save Somalia’s Lost and Starving Cats – Build a Shelter for Them!

Somalia’s streets are filled with malnourished, abandoned, and suffering cats. These innocent animals are struggling to survive in extreme conditions—burning heat during the day, freezing cold at night, and constant hunger that leaves many of them weak, sick, and dying. With no animal protection laws, no shelters, and no organizations dedicated to their welfare, their suffering goes unnoticed. But we cannot turn a blind eye any longer.

I am launching this GoFundMe campaign to build the first dedicated animal shelter in Somalia, providing food, medical care, and protection to these forgotten cats. Every day, I see heartbreaking scenes: kittens too weak to move, their tiny bodies shaking from hunger; mother cats searching for food to feed their babies but finding nothing; orphaned kittens lying lifeless on the roads, crushed by cars because they had nowhere safe to go.

Many of these cats were once pets, abandoned when families could no longer care for them. Others were born on the streets, never knowing kindness, love, or a warm place to sleep. Without help, they suffer slow, painful deaths from starvation, disease, or cruel human treatment.

What This Fundraiser Will Do

With your help, we will:

Build a shelter where lost and orphaned cats can find safety, warmth, and food.

Provide daily meals to street cats to prevent them from dying of hunger.

Offer medical care to sick and injured cats who have never received treatment.

Rescue and care for orphaned kittens who would otherwise perish alone.

Advocate for animal welfare in Somalia to change the future for these helpless creatures.

Why Your Support Matters

There is no system in Somalia to protect these animals. No government shelters, no veterinary services for strays, no emergency care when they are hit by cars or abused by cruel individuals. Without us, they have no one.

$30 can provide a warm shelter for a rescued kitten.

$50 can fund medical treatment for an injured cat.

$100 or more can help us build a permanent sanctuary for these suffering animals.
