For Giving Tuesday, Carpe Diem Theater is raising funds to bring in professional light & sound equipment and teams for our spring production of Oliver! In 2026, we’re expanding in a big way. For the first time in our organization’s history, we will be hiring local professional actors, creatives, and musicians to comprise our cast, orchestra, and production team. To support this caliber of work, we come to our generous community to help raise the funds necessary to hire professional sound and lighting personnel.

We’re thrilled to collaborate with talented local musicians, bringing new energy and depth to our stage. Balancing live instruments, actors’ microphones, and sound effects requires expertise, and a professional team will ensure every note and line is heard clearly.

This production of Oliver! centers around the idea that "light is love". As Oliver moves through the world in pursuit of love (after singing the timeless classic "Where is love?"), we will see how Oliver chooses to chase after light, while unknowingly, the Dickensian society around him reacts to the light within him. This conceptual storytelling will rely on professional equipment and technicians to use the beautiful Round Lake Auditorium in new and mind-opening ways.
