Western Nationals, Portland Oregon
The Carmichael Pride Program for 12u Select is in its first year in a new program to the Sacramento area that gives All-Star caliber players the chance to see what travel ball is all about. We had our tryouts in late December/early January and created this team of 12 awesome little women! Ever since day one we had our sights set on making Western Nationals for the first time as a team. Anyone who knows the history of our league knows this was no easy task! We worked hard and put in the many hours of blood, sweat, and tears to make this dream a REALITY!!! This is a very exciting trip for them as they will have the opportunity to play in a VERY competitive tournament with some of the best 12U softball teams in the Western United States. The tournament takes place from July 31st through August 6th, 2017. Now we just need a little help to make it possible from family and friends.
The girls made it to the Championship game in 5 of the 8 tournaments which is awesome just by itself!!!! We finished with two 1st place, three 2nd place, and one 3rd place in just our first season EARNING a berth to Western Nationals in Portland Oregon!
This is an expensive tournament to participate in and Portland is a 10+ hour drive. Everyone has to travel to Portland and pay for at least 4/5 nights of accommodations. The money we collect will be used to fund meals for the girls, cut cost on rooms for the families, to buy each player a tournament t-shirt to remember the experience, and to cover other incidental costs like snacks and water for the games. All of our parents are hardworking and have committed to seeing our kid’s dreams come true, but unfortunately, some families (like myself) are single income households. We are just asking for some help to fund some aspects of this trip to help our girls make memories for life!!
