Camp Del Corazon
Hi friends, family, and all viewing this page. My name is Elijah Weiss and I am 17 years old. I have a congenital heart condition called aortic stenosis. About ten months ago I had a second open-heart surgery to correct severe leakage from my mitral and aortic valves that caused my left ventricle to be enlarged. Before my surgery, I was able to speak to someone around my age that had just had heart surgery and it really helped quell a lot of my anxiety -- the fact that he was an athlete starting his sophomore year playing basketball for UCLA made his experience more relatable. Talking to him made the whole situation less daunting for me because I saw someone who got through it. The reason I want to raise money for Camp del Corazon is because the camp brings kids together and connects them to show that they aren't alone in living with heart disease. I first found out about Corazon through my own cardiologist. I have come to know the organization, and members of the Camp del Corazon team. I have also voluntered to serve as a resource for the organization and campers. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
