Cambridge Competitive Curling Club Inc

The Cambridge Competitive Curling Club, affectionately known as "The Club" was founded 50 years ago. In that time we have seen membership grow 837% from the founding 32 members to 268 members today.

The Club’s mission is to teach, develop, promote and encourage the ancient and honorable sport of curling to Juniors, Adults, and Seniors leading to engagement in local, regional, state, national and international competitions. To foster public awareness, appreciation of the sport, and community involvement, the Club coordinates with schools, colleges and community groups to offer opportunities and programs for all ages to learn and participate in curling in a safe, team-based environment.

The Curling Club provides services that promote lifelong health and fitness opportunities through activities and programs that encourage an active lifestyle, physical fitness, and well-being while engaging in fun, interactive recreation, social, and community connection opportunities for all ages and genders. The services are available for all ages, fitness, activity and skill levels. We are proud to see generations of curlers, many family members, who have and continue to call the Club "home".

The Club relies on donations, dues and fund-raising for facility improvements and is dedicated to ensuring sound management of the building, equipment, and properties owned, leased, or occupied by the Club. The Club has continued to raise funds to support the increased interest in curling, membership growth and need for a facility expansion project. This expansion project will be implemented in three phases.

Phase I occurred in 2017 when the Board invested $280,000 to replace the floor in the curling arena with one to support high quality curling ice - a key factor to attract and maintain experienced curlers and to improve the experience for all players.

Phase II facility expansion includes much-needed updates to clubhouse amenities including locker rooms. This project replaces the single co-ed locker room by building separate men’s and women’s locker rooms that will consume 42% of the space in the 1,880 sq ft building expansion. Separate locker rooms will increase comfort for to engage in recreation, interactions and comradery between players of the same gender.

Phase III, slated to begin mid to late 2024, includes renovating outdated restrooms to comply with ADA guidelines, increasing seating capacity, handicap accessibility and improving clubhouse appearance.

This is where you come in - our stakeholders! Stakeholder engagement is how we have reached this point in the project. Stakeholders engaged in discussing building options, looking for donors and fund raising. We will have club members do as much of the renovation and interior work as is allowed by building code. Stakeholders are driving the addition. Our members are pushing the

board to complete the expansion for strong member engagement, and once we break ground, there will be even more excitement.
