TNR and Cat Rescue expenses
BCAA Cats Division is a small group of volunteers who actively rescue, foster, and find adoptable homes for cats and kittens. We can be found on Facebook ( BCAA Cat Chronicles) and will be adding our cats and kittens for adoption to the BCAA of NJ website (www.bcaaofnj.org) The adorable kittens and cats rescued often have a difficult start in life, and some require ongoing veterinary care. Our Cat Adoption Center in the Mt. Laurel NJ Petsmart is temporarily closed, and our fundraisers in the community have also been postponed due to adhering to the precautions necessary during the coronavirus outbreak. This has limited our funds dramatically and with kitten season 2020 upon us, we are asking for help in order to be able to continue to care for the cats and kittens in need.
BCAA is also currently expanding its TNR efforts, in order to reduce the cat overpopulation that will result in so many helpless and at-risk kittens born outside to feral moms and outside pet cats that are not fixed.
Most low-cost clinics in this area charge around $35 to spay/neuter, ear tip, and provide a Rabies vaccination to a feral cat. $35 doesn't sound like a lot, but feral cats are usually found in groups, and you have to TNR the entire group in order to stop the breeding of yet more at-risk cats.
We are hoping to get a head start on the 2020 kitten season through TNR efforts now. BCAA Cats rescued and adopted to forever homes almost 200 cats last year, and the majority of those cats were kittens found outside, sick, starving, and alone. Any help that you can give toward our TNR and rescue efforts would be greatly appreciated.
The cute kitten below, as well as hundreds of others that have come into our rescue were once frightened, starving, flea infested kittens found outside, and through BCAA's TNR and Rescue efforts, they are all now healthy and in wonderful forever homes where they will never again need to fear being out in the cold or heat, without food or water, and prey to larger animals.
