Scarlett was a beautiful rescue German Shepherd that we saved from an LA kill shelter last year. Sadly, she has tragically passed away while in the hands of her San Diego trainer last Wednesday. A trainer that promised 24/7 access to veterinary care should she need it. Sadly, she did need it, and our trainer was nowhere to be found, causing Scarlett to pass away alone, in her crate, with no answers.
We asked the trainer various times to please answer our basic questions so we could try to understand what caused this, like: Did she have water? Does your home have AC? How long was she in her crate? And both the trainer and company refused to answer us.
Even worse, they have now sent us a cease and desist to try to stop us from sharing Scarlett's story, which is beyond traumatic. Not only is our dog dead, but now, we have to organize legal representation to protect not only our rescue but Scarlett as well.
To figure out what caused her death, we got her an autopsy in Davis, CA, and the preliminary results are back. I want to share them, but the company is not going to like what it has found so far. Before I can publish our findings...
I need to hire proper legal representation so we are no longer threatened or silenced for wanting to seek justice for Scarlett or for wanting to warn others with dogs that may end up in their care.
I hate that we have to make this fundraiser, but sadly, the trainer and training company have given us no choice. If you would like to help us see this through, we could use your support! Even a few bucks adds up if everyone does their part.
We also still need to get her cremated which is another $350.00 we have not raised yet.
Please share this with any friends, media, or attorneys that may want to help us seek justice for Scarlett!
