Buffalo Sports Project

Hello, my name is August Finn.

One year ago, I founded Buffalo Sports Project with a group of friends and former teammates to use soccer as a way to strengthen our community.

What started as an idea has quickly grown into something bigger.

In just one year, we’ve built a free program serving over 150 young people across Buffalo—many from refugee and underserved communities. We’ve taken on a lot, transforming a vacant lot into a soccer field, organizing college visits, and most importantly, built a committed network of coaches and mentors that show up for our students every day.

The impact is clear. We’ve seen kids grow in confidence, form friendships across cultures, and find a true sense of belonging.

Now, we’re ready to grow.

With your support, we aim to expand college tours, secure reliable transportation for our players, and build more accessible playing spaces.
