Secure Brown Recluse Zine Distro's Future!
We are seeking funds for the project to continue for at least 6-9 months into the new year. If we cannot meet this goal, we will likely cease operations of our 12-year project.
Brown Recluse Zine Distro is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit zine distro of self-published independent print media, including zines and prints, for and by Queer and Trans Black Indigenous and People of Color.
Established in 2013, Brown Recluse Zine Distro was created to support and center zines written by people of color. Since then, the project has blossomed into so many beautiful iterations.
In 2020, our project grew exponentially ~ so much so, that our collective project had to turn into a 501c3!
However, since then, we have very much been shadow-banned on all platforms and not received the support / income stream of earlier years.
Moreover, the grants in which we were relying on were not renewed for 2026.
For two years now, we have proudly provided free printing for Black zinemakers. Donations have been dwindling in support of our project. which is 75% funded by donations as we give 100% of the cover price to Black zine makers and a majority of our catalog are zines fundraising for mutual aid redistribution efforts.
We hope to continue this distro for 12 more years ! - We are seeking funds for the project to continue for at least 6-9 months into the new year. If we cannot meet this goal, we will likely cease operations of our 12-year project.
