BREAST CANCER RESEARCH AID

I’m going to be running the Liverpool half marathon in march in memory of a very special close family friend Susan, all money raised will be going towards breast cancer research Uk. Any donations would be greatly appreciated.

For anyone who doesn’t know me — I’m Isaac, I’m 19, and I’ve been living in Australia for just over a year now. A few days ago, I was on the train home from work reading The Wim Hof Method — a book my mum had just given me. It talked about pushing yourself outside your comfort zone, and it really got me thinking.

So… I’ve decided that on March 1st, 2026, I’ll be setting off on a massive challenge: cycling 17,000 km around the entire coastline of Australia. I’ll be camping in a tent every night and aiming to ride around 100 km a day, with one rest day a week. Based on that, I should complete the journey in about 6–7 months. I’ll be starting in Newcastle, NSW, and going anti-clockwise around the coast.

The best part is that I won’t be doing it alone — my best mate Joe will be joining me for the whole journey. Together, we’ll be tackling the ride side by side, each supporting a cause close to our hearts. I’ll be raising money for breast cancer research in honour of my grandmother, who bravely battled the disease before passing away when I was 12. Joe will be fundraising for men’s mental health, another hugely important cause that touches so many lives.

Since I was younger, I’ve always tried to give back in different ways — from shaving my head, to a sponsored run, to a charity boxing event. But this ride will definitely be the biggest challenge yet.

Between now and when we set off, we’ll be sharing our journey on social media — training rides, updates, and little fundraising events along the way. Any donations, shares, or support would mean the world.

I’m running to raise money for my sister as she courageously goes through breast cancer treatment. Like so many families facing cancer, this journey has come with emotional, physical challenges that no one is ever truly prepared for.

For her strength on the days she feels exhausted, still putting her young family first.

For her courage on the days fear tries to win.

For her fight, her hope, and her future.

I’m challenging myself to run a sequence of races once a month, all kicking off from March 2026 with the spring 10miles, there will be some tough ones in there such as a couple of half marathons and a full marathon in September. I’m hoping for lots of support & company on these runs whether it’s by donating, sharing my page or getting involved with this challenge with me, everyone is welcome.

Just over three years ago I sadly said goodbye to mum suddenly. Like any passing, it was heartbreaking as I never got to say that goodbye. However, I remember being sat on a hospital bed 15 years earlier with her as she went into surgery to remove a tumour not knowing what came next. Thanks to the amazing treatment received, mum recovered from breast cancer and enjoyed more life and got to dance her little feet away for many years to come. So in April I’ll be running/crawling/dragging my old body round the Manchester marathon to raise dinero for breast cancer research. It’s not going to be pretty. If you would like to donate any pennies whatsoever I’d be incredibly grateful!

In January, myself and Alex are taking on a challenge to raise money for breast cancer research - a charity incredibly close to our hearts. We will be running 26.2 miles every week for the whole of January. We want to raise as much money as possible to continue the research of this amazing charity who’s care and support helped saved two people’s lives that are close to our hearts.

Breast cancer research has supported our friend Courtney through the toughest year of her life. After she was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year - after finding out it was an aggressive cancer which is commonly found in young women Courtney was able to start treatment. Courtney has received 16 weeks of chemotherapy, medically induced menopause, optional IVF treatment, white blood cell injections every week all that come with a risk of side effects. Courtney described it as one of the most terrifying moments of her life with endless scans and genetic testing which has revealed Courtney has the defect gene called mosaic li fraumeni syndrome. This gene comes with a lifetime risk of several soft tissue cancers. Court will need annual MRI scans, 6 monthly skin checks and close monitoring for the rest of her life. Without this research and support court would never have known she carried this gene.

This cause is also deeply personal for Alex, whose close family member was diagnosed early thanks to routine mammograms and successfully treated with surgery and radiotherapy last year.

Myself and Alex are raising money to say thank you — thank you for the research that saves lives, the early detection that changes outcomes, and the care that supports people through their darkest moments. Every donation helps fund the vital work that gives families more time, more hope and more futures.

My name is Will and il be running the half marathon on the 12th April 2026. Now am I the right person to do this? No! but I am the one who has been selected to do so, so this is how it is. I will be running in support of Breast Cancer awareness and will attempt to not die in the attempt.

Honestly, this idea came about quickly and was a very easy decision to make, through out my life my Mum has been my shining light, no matter the problems we faced. From dressing and taking me to school from the age of 4, to still to this day looking after me to a fantastic degree. I am certainly not a perfect man, i am self aware, however, i want to make the woman who gave me life and has NEVER turned her back on me when so many others would a chance to be proud and feel like she has a hand to hold onto after her diagnosis of breast cancer. Therefore, on the 9th of January 2026 i will be shaving my head to the scalp in solidarity for those that have been through or going through these tough stages in life. This one is very close to my heart, and I know it will be for many others too. Even in the saddest times, there are ways to find something positive. I am raising money for Breast Cancer Research Aid in memory of my nan, who sadly passed away after losing her fight with breast cancer for the second time. Her loss broke many hearts, and this journey is for her—and for everyone who has lost someone to this awful disease ❤️

On Friday 3rd of April, I will be riding from my nan’s first home in Brecks to her second home in Chapel St Leonards. The journey is 100 miles by bike and will take around 12 hours of nonstop effort, hard work, and dedication to complete.

My nan loved her caravan, which was her home for the last 20 years of her life. Every summer, she truly lived life on that veranda, and the childhood memories I shared with her there will stay with me forever ❤️

I will be supported throughout the journey by some amazing friends, and I’m incredibly grateful to have people like that around me to keep me motivated when it gets tough.

Hi my name is Wesley.

I’ve decided to take on a half marathon in support of breast cancer research — something that’s completely outside my comfort zone, both physically and mentally.

The reason is very personal. Someone I Truly care for was diagnosed with breast cancer at the start of the year. It puts into perspective how suddenly life can change, and how many families are affected by this disease every single day.

I’m not a natural runner, and committing to a half marathon has been a huge challenge for me. But every training session is a reminder of why I’m doing this — to help fund research, improve treatments, and support those facing breast cancer right now.

Every contribution, no matter how small, truly makes a difference and keeps me going when training gets tough.

This year one of my New Year’s resolutions was to complete a Half Marathon.

On the 1st of January I received some upsetting news that someone I hold dear to my heart has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

I wanted to do something to help in some way, so I decided to run a marathon for this special lady and all the other very special women in mine and my families lives who have been affected by this illness and try to raise money for Breast Cancer Research UK.

So on the 27th of June I will be taking part in the Lee Valley Velo Park Half Marathon.

All funds donated will be sent straight to the charity and any donations are greatly appreciated.
