Breaking Barriers Theatre Company Spring Awakening
Ever since we were young, both Evan and I have been heavily involved in theatre. Performing in a multitude of shows has taught us the ins and outs of the business and overall has helped us become better performers. Inspired by our directors’ constant encouragement and hard work, we have created our own theatre company. Breaking Barriers Theatre Company is a teen-run nonprofit organization. We hope to produce our very own show next June- Spring Awakening by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik. Our mission is to design a creative outlet for teenagers in New York City, so they have the opportunity to create theatre magic in a safe environment, make new friends and learn all the different aspects of theatre from acting to directing. We believe that it is imperative that when putting on a production there is a perfect balance of fun and work, a concept all of these talented individuals truly understand. Putting on a production is not easy. From the long rehearsals to the strenuous work each individual puts in at home, there is never a dull moment. All of us at Breaking Barriers are ready to step up to the challenge of putting on a truly brilliant show. However, we can not make this dream a reality without your help. Producing a show is an expensive endeavor. Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated. All of the donations will go towards the rights for the show, props and costumes, rehearsal studios, and, of course, the theater itself. Thank you so much for supporting our cause and all the hard work we have put into this production company. As a cast, we sincerely thank you and cannot wait to make this a life changing experience for everyone involved.
