To kick things off, a generous Board Member is offering to match every donation dollar-for-dollar up to $5,000. If you enjoyed Leni's Last Lament, or A View From The Bridge, or The Hook in 2023, or if you are looking forward to Sheila Anozier’s folk tale in Little Haiti, WE NEED YOU to answer our board member's challenge with the most generous gift you can give. Anyone who donates $200 or more (the base price of membership) will receive a pair of commemorative, stemless BNW wine glasses as our gift. For Women's History Month 2024, BNW Rep proudly presented the world premiere of Leni's Last Lament, a provocative, satirical cabaret about Hitler's infamous filmmaker Leni Riefenstahl. We hope you saw it and found it as fascinating as we did. We are thrilled that the development of this brave new play helped prepare the Leni team for the upcoming Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Up next for BNW Rep is our second annual, FREE Haitian Spring Celebration on June 8th in Little Haiti, aka East Flatbush. In September and October, BNW Rep will bring staged READINGS of neglected classics to beautiful Ditmas Park Gardens. In order to ensure we can produce this future programming, we need to raise $20,000 by June 1.
Brave New World Rep., a Brooklyn-based company, reaches under-served audiences to promote a love of theatre, with re-imagined classics and brave new works that reflect our diverse community. BNW’s free-to-low-cost programs range from intimate readings to large outdoor productions, and cast unique and historic Brooklyn venues in a leading role. We seek to tell stories that celebrate life and promote social justice; stories that make us laugh, feel deeply, and find common ground.
THANK YOU!
